Val delle Rose Presenta 2017
A Summer of music
Val delle Rose Pesenta 2017
After last year's success with Val delle Rose presents Cecchi family proposes a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing the Estate involving ecology, sports, music, art and culture this summer.
“Val delle Rose is not just wine. But we want to make our Maremma Estate alive in all its beauty", says Andrea Cecchi. This year proposal is the hiking trails in the vineyard, which includes three different paths of different difficulty and length. Each variant, whose name varies according to the vineyards – Morellino path, Litorale path and Poggio al Leone path - provides a resting spot with tables and bences, located in a panoramic position. Hiking is included in any of the tasting tours packages, is free but reservations are required.
In addition to physical activity, it is possible to live an artistic experience thanks to the program of appointments organized with national and international musicians, which will focus on "music reinterpretation".
After a visit to the vineyard and the cellar, a tasting of wines paired with typical food at sunset, at 9 pm begins the show according to the following calendar:
On June 10, the Quintetto Cavalieri (will propose a reinterpretation of soundtracks and author jazz);
On Saturday 29 July, the Morellino Classica Festival will present a jazz quartet composed by the Trio Di Toro and the well-known sax player Tim Garland;
On Saturday, August 19 for the first time, the Accademia Chigiana will leave its home in Siena to arrive in Maremma with four percussionists who with their vibes will build contemporary harmonies.
Saturday 2 September will be the turn of the Orchestrina Maccheroni Swing, a repertoire of Italian and international songs with a retro flavour with swinging atmospheres.
Situated in an area rich in landscape and wildlife, archaeological excavations and thermal spas, the Val delle Rose estate is an ideal place to enjoy the treasures of its land. Here, besides the summer program, you can always arrange tours in the vineyard, visit the cellar, book a typical tasting and lunch.
Tenuta Val delle Rose, in Poggio alla Mozza (Grosseto), was purchased by Luigi Cecchi in 1996. At the time of purchase, the property already had 25 hectares of vineyards, which over the years have been entirely replanted and expanded to reach over 100 hectares. Among the new vineyards, there are several selections of Sangiovese along with a few hectares of Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Colorino and an ever more important area of Vermentino. The main wine is the Morellino di Scansano DOCG, produced in the vintage and reserve types; however, the Family has given remarkable emphasis to the production of the Litorale, a Vermentino of Maremma.
Today, the cellar consists of 4,000 square meters of production area and 2,000 square meters dedicated to hospitality.
